Organization Description

Mission statementThe Eritrean Community in Seattle and Vicinity (ECSV) is a non-profit organization founded September 9th 1983. This noble beginning developed until the organization officially registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Washington. ECSV has served the Eritrean refugees and immigrants as a bridge to adjust to the culture of their new home here in the United States. The mission of the Eritrean Community in Seattle and Vicinity is to promote, through its members, the social, economical, educational and cultural interests of Eritrean refugees in Seattle while conserving and passing-on the Eritrean culture and tradition to the children. Volunteerism, members' participation and involvement are the backbone of achieving our goals.

Behavior/Social and Emotional Learning and Supports (1 program)

Programs that support adults and students in developing 21st century skills and competencies such as self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making, and building trusting relationships, in order to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work/studies effectively. This is inclusive of programs supporting alternative discipline approaches such as restorative justice.
