Organization Description

Mission statementArtsEd Washington is a grassroots non-profit organization working to ensure every student in Washington State has an equitable arts education regardless of socio-economic status and or school location. We believe in the transformational power the arts have on a young person's social/emotional development, academic success, and future professional interests. Research + data clearly show Art Education improves mental health, a sense of connection and belonging in the community, is effective for those with diverse learning styles, and a powerful healing tool for students impacted by trauma from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). We believe our schools need the arts more now than ever before!
Service(s) descriptionArtsEd Washington helps school districts and schools develop, implement, and sustain great arts education. School and district level programs include: Arts Lessons in the Classroom (ALIC), Educational Webinars, and Creative incubators to come together and generate solution. For the 2023-2024 school year we will also be rolling out curriculum support for arts educators addressing new classroom requirements. We strive to have representation from all areas of Washington on our board and staff to help identify communities that are often overlooked in our state.
