Mission statementSCF is dedicated to helping grieving children who have lost a parent, sibling, or other loved one heal and thrive. Watch to learn how programs we have funded have helped kids get back to being kids.
Service(s) descriptionSafe Crossings counselors provide 1:1 and group support for students needing bereavement as well as pre-bereavement support, in collaboration with partnering schools. School groups are typically 6 weeks and can extend to 8 weeks as desired based on a developed curriculum, founded on a strength-based model. The curriculum is flexible within the needs of each individual school. Group sizes typically range from three students to twelve students; groups should have three students minimum. Participating students are identified by school staff. One on one counseling is also available, and at a frequency that best meets the child's needs and fits the school schedule.
