Mission statementSince Seattle Children’s Theatre first opened its doors in 1975 we have been providing the highest quality drama education experiences along with professional theatre for young audiences. SCT Education Department has become a national leader, pioneering programs ranging from creative drama to integrated arts classes. Theatres and arts organizations from across the country look to SCT Education Programs as a model and resource for best practices.
Service(s) descriptionWorkshops and Residencies for students grades K – 12 in theatre (acting, imaginative play, musical theatre, improvisation), social emotional learning, arts-integrated learning (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Social Justice), and Sensory-Friendly/Sensory Drama. Now offered virtually. Financial aid available.
Program impactSeattle Children’s Theatre strives to activate the imaginations and creativity of all students in Seattle-area schools and community organizations through meaningful learning opportunities. In the 2018–2019 school year, our community engagement programs served an estimated 4,783 students in grades Pre K–12, totaling 1,130 hours of instructional programming and nearly $43,000 of subsidized programming.

Academic Learning (1 program)

Programs that support and reinforce school-day academic instruction within any subject area - language arts, career and technical education, math, science/technology, visual and performing arts, physical education, health education, ethnic studies, social studies, and world languages - in alignment to the curriculum and academic goals for students and the district.
