Organization Description

Mission statementHelping people explore, conserve, learn about, and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Service(s) descriptionThe Mountaineers partners with youth serving organizations throughout the Puget Sound region to deliver single or multi-day outdoor education experiences. Our flexible, hands-on curriculum is designed to expose youth to transferable outdoor skills and impart a desire to explore and conserve the outdoors. Students learn skills applicable to almost anything youth will do for the rest of their lives: communication, planning, overcoming obstacles, and team-work. The Mountaineers offers indoor and outdoor climbing, snowshoeing, navigation, and other outdoor skill-focused activities. We have a long history of partnership with Bailey Gatzert Elementary, Aki Kurose Middle School, and Interagency Academy.
