| Program Description | The Young Core Company is a direct learning performing arts and education project comprised of a multicultural ensemble of 10-15 youth ages 14-18 recruited from diverse Seattle-area communities. The Young Core Company (YCC) is a year-round program centered on developing young people as artists and citizens through experiential theater training in a context of rigorous civic engagement and community building. ACT fills a necessary gap in the Seattle-area youth theater landscape offering a professional environment for non-professionals and transformational mentorship. The YCC offers arts education to communities whose experience of the arts is limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability that historically had limited to no access to high quality programming. |
