| Program Description | SYSO, the nation's largest youth orchestra organization, which has collaborated with Seattle music teachers for over 20 years, will provide highly trained string coaches to work directly under the supervision of SPS elementary instrumental music teachers to increase the size, diversity, and quality of school orchestra programs. Lessons provided by SYSO coaches will occur during school, as a component of regularly scheduled instructional time, as part of Elementary Instrumental Music. SYSO coaches will also provide mentoring to middle and high school teachers in schools and after school coaching for additional instructional time through the Cadenza Afterschool Orchestra Clubs. |
