Organization Description

Mission statementnot provided
Service(s) descriptionThrough the UW in the High School (UWHS) program, the UW partners with high schools across Washington to offer UW coursework for UW credit in the high school classroom. Students in these UW courses earn high school credit; students can also register with UW to earn UW credit at the same time. University credits earned in the courses are widely transferable to other institutions, both in and out of the state. These official UW courses are taught by highly qualified high school teachers who have been approved and trained by UW faculty. Teachers use UW curriculum and grading standards to ensure that the course is equivalent to the course taught on campus. UW faculty also visit and observe the high school classroom and conduct annual workshops for the teachers. As of the 23-24 school year, enrollment in UW courses offered through UWHS is free for all public school students.
